Calibration procedure of AATCC Crockmeter

AATCC Crockmeter is suitable for testing the color fastness to rubbing and staining of all kinds of textiles (dyed or printed yarns, fabrics and textile products made of various fibers, including textile carpets and other fleece fabrics).

During the test process, the Fabric Crockmeter needs to be maintained regularly and irregularly. When deviation occurs, the machine needs to be calibrated.

1. The correction project: friction distance, load

2. Correction device: straight steel ruler, electronic scale

3. Calibration period: one year

4. Correction step:

A. Friction distance correction method:

1) Cut two sheets of white paper and one copy paper with a size of about 220mm × 30mm.

2) Put the two pieces of cut white paper into the carbon paper and place them on the friction table, and cover the sample plate.

3) Put down the friction head on white paper

4) Turn on the power of the Textile Crockmeter and set the number of tests

5) Press the start button to turn on the Rubbing Fastness Tester. After a few rubs, press the stop button to stop the machine.

6) Remove the white paper and measure the length of the track copied from the surface with a straight steel ruler minus 16mm to see if it meets the requirements.

B. Friction load correction

1) Use a hanging electronic scale to hold the center of the friction crucible in the vertical direction

2) Lift the hanging electronic scale so that the friction is suspended, so that the friction arm is in a horizontal position.

3) Stabilize the hanging electronic scale and read the value displayed (this value is the friction load) to see if it corresponds to the required load (9N).
