The tester is equipped with a high-pressure hydraulic pump to provide continuous water supply to the test chamber. The sample is clamped in a fixture and the water jet is directed at the sample surface under controlled pressure. Water passing through the sample is collected and measured to determine the water flow rate. The pressure drop across the sample is measured and used to calculate the water permeability of the fabric.
