Bursting strength is the most advanced method performed on fabrics to measure the strength of a material. It can be defined as the force required to break a woven/knitted fabric under standard conditions by a force applied perpendicular to the plane of the sample. Fabrics are often stressed in all directions during use, so it is necessary to apply actual stress to the material to determine the fabric's strength under non-uniform conditions. Fabrics often fail by bursting during use or shipping.
When the fabric fails due to continuous burst strength, the material bursts from where the elongation at break is lowest. This happens when stress is applied to the fabric from all directions, and the less strong material bursts first.
The machine used for this test method works on the principle of constant elongation (CRE). The sample is clamped firmly to the machine without any tension on the ball burst attachment. The fabric samples are subjected to force by means of polished hardened steel balls until rupture occurs:
The Fabric Bursting Strength Tester is divided into two types. One is hydraulic bursting and pneumatic bursting. The hydraulic pressure acts on the test sample above the rubber tympanic membrane to burst the tested sample, which is used to test knitting, woven, paper and cardboard. Paper, the maximum pressure value and burst height at burst.
AVENO provides a variety of Bursting Strength Test Equipment to meet the testing needs of different production plants.
